In India, Chai is majorly consumed as an energy booster and believe it or not, this beverage is not bad if consumed in moderation. This is because Chai consists of a flavonoid called Catechins, which helps in breaking down the fat molecules faster. This further helps in increasing the metabolic rate, which helps in weight loss. Also the presence of Caffeine in tea helps in boosting the energy levels and burning calories.
According to health experts, having one cup of tea won’t make much of a difference, if you can tweak the ingredients and manage your daily calorie goal of around 1800-2000 calories a day. Thus, it is not Chai which leads to weight gain but the addition of taste enhancers like sugar, heavy cream or full fat milk. So, if you are trying to achieve your weight loss goals, then make sure you modify your Chai recipe or go for lesser cups a day or simply switch to herbal teas and lose weight faster.
