Lionel Messi has left Barcelona. Barcelona fans are trying to start anew with the pain of losing the club’s lifeblood.
In such a situation, positive news is needed for the supporters of the club. But the positive news from Barca is hardly matching now. On the contrary, some incidents surrounding Messi are coming to the fore.
However, Ansu Fatir’s contract, which Barca supporters rely on to fill the void left by Messi, will likely be renewed. Fatir’s current contract with Barca expires in 2022.
Meanwhile, Catalan media outlet Dario ARA reported that Fatir’s future at Bar্সa was uncertain even during the last transfer window. That’s why Barca president Juan Laporta was pressured to release the Spanish forward to retain the Messi-Argentine star. The club’s insiders put pressure on Laporta.
According to the media, the pressure on Laporta was created by the finance department of Bara. Barca could not hold Messi within the salary limits set by La Liga. That is why the Catalan club was forced to leave him. The club president was asked by the finance department to release 16-year-old Fati to register Messi.
The club has been in a bad financial situation for the last few seasons. The amount of debt has already exceeded hundreds of billions of euros. In such a situation, the finance department offers to sell the ‘future’ to retain the best player in the history of the club.
But Laporta did not agree. He was adamant to hold Fati. On the other hand, 34-year-old Messi joined PSG as a free agent. He also explained the reason for holding Fatima on the Catalan TV channel ‘TV3’.
The ARA also said that in favor of keeping Messi at Bara, not only Fati, but also a number of young players were advised to be sold. But Laporta did not heed this suggestion. And that is why Fati is now on the verge of renewing his contract with Barca.
Fati has almost recovered from a knee injury. He has returned to club practice after being out of action for 10 months. Barca hopes to return to the field very soon.
