The persecution of the Hindu community in the country is surpassing all previous incidents. The incident took place at a temple in Comilla to create unrest during Durga Puja. In the next three days, the followers of traditional religions have demanded the arrest of those involved in these incidents and the trial of them through the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
The followers of traditional religions held a human chain and demonstration in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday morning. These programs were held under the banner of eight organizations belonging to the Hindu community.
Leaders of these organizations said that there have been dozens of attacks on minority communities in Nasirnagar, Raozan, Fatikchhari, Cox’s Bazar, Dinajpur, Satkhira, Jessore and Khulna before. Minorities are being repeatedly attacked and tortured in the country due to the fact that those incidents have not been brought to justice and the culprits have not been punished.
Govinda Chandra Pramanik, secretary general of the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance, said a selfish group had maliciously caused the incident at the Puja Mandap in Comilla. There have been incidents of vandalism of mandapas, arson, assaults on houses, beating and injuring of followers of traditional religions.

The perpetrators must be arrested and tried by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) within the next three days. Otherwise, the Hindu Grand Alliance will build a massive movement across the country.
Besides, Sajan Kumar, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Parishad, said in another human chain that the current situation of persecution of Hindus in the country is going beyond the history of persecution. The people of the country do not expect this from a secular government.
