Actor, playwright and director Kayes Chowdhury has been suffering from kidney problems for a long time. He died Thursday evening. He was 74 years old. Kamruzzaman Sagar, general secretary of the director’s guild, confirmed the news of Kayes Chowdhury’s death in the first light.
Sagar said Kayes Chowdhury, who was suffering from kidney disease, fell unconscious at his Lalmatia home on Thursday evening. He was later taken to a private hospital in Dhanmondi where doctors declared him dead. Kayes Chowdhury is survived by his wife, three daughters and many well-wishers.
After the formalities of the hospital after the death, the bathing work was being done around 10:30 pm on Thursday. Sagar said Kayes Chowdhury’s body would be kept in the cold storage of a hospital in Panthapath. He will be buried at Mirpur Intellectual Cemetery after Janaza at Taqwa Mosque in Dhanmondi on Friday.
