Tamim returned home from Nepal with an injury

Tamim Iqbal is playing in Nepal’s Everest Premier League. The timing is not going very well with the bat. But this time the Bangladesh opener is returning to the country due to injury. He injured his left thumb in the match against Bhairahawa Gladiators against Kathmandu Kings XI yesterday.

Tamim returned to the country this morning. On his return, he was scanned at a hospital in Banani. There is no good news. There is a crack in the finger. It will take at least three weeks to recover. Needless to say, the Everest Premier League is no longer being played. A BCB official confirmed Tamim’s return to the country and the injury.

He last played in the ODI series against Zimbabwe last July. He was not in the T20 series due to injury. Did not play two T20 series at home against Australia and New Zealand. The ODI captain also withdrew from the T20 World Cup squad citing the reason for being out of the game.

After recovering from injury, he went to Nepal to play in the Everest Premier League. The franchise tournament started on September 25. He has scored 75 runs in 5 matches.
