The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Narcotic Control Bureau that took over the investigations into the drugs case, summoned Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The newly constituted SIT headed by NCB Deputy Director General, Sanjay Singh on Saturday arrived in Mumbai to commence their probe in six drug cases, including the infamous one involving Aryan.

The SIT team issued a summon to the star kid on Saturday and called him in for questioning on Sunday. This is in line with his bail order which states that Aryan had to be available for questioning when called in by the NCB officials.

Sources revealed in a statement to ETimes, “Aryan Khan may not appear at the NCB office today due to health reasons. Those in the know have revealed that Aryan may appear before the SIT for further questioning and investigation tomorrow.”

Reports state the co-accused Arbaaz Merchant could also be called in to record his statement.

Keeping up with his bail agreement, Aryan was seen arriving at the NCB’s office on Friday to mark his attendance.

The team is also expected to record the statement of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik’s son-in-law, Sameer Khan who was arrested by the NCB in January this year and got out on bail recently.

The report further states that the SIT has begun recording statements of people involved in the 6 cases.

The NCB issued a statement on Friday announcing that the SIT had taken over the cases which have national and international ramifications, in order to conduct a deeper investigation to find out forward and backward linkages.

The statement also said that no officer or officers have been removed from their present roles and they will continue to assist the Operations Branch investigation as required until any specific orders are issued to the contrary.

It is reiterated that the NCB functions across India as a single integrated agency. However, Wankhede denied that he has been removed from the case and said, “I have not been removed from the investigation. It was my writ petition in the court that the matter be probed by a central agency. So Aryan Khan Case and Sameer Khan Case are being probed by Delhi Special Investigation Team. It is coordination between NCB teams of Delhi and Mumbai.”
