Did you know Irrfan Khan wanted to remake THIS Bengali film? | Hindi Movie News

Filmmaker Mostofa Farooqui recently revealed that late actor Irrfan Khan was keen on remaking his Bengali directorial venture, ‘Ant Story’ in Hindi.

In an interview with a news portal, Farooqui revealed that Irrfan wanted to make ‘Ant Story’ in Hindi. He had made it in Bengali under the name ‘Piprabidya’ and he had brought the rights too. He also added that all the payments were also made.

Elaborating further, the director added that as the late actor got busy with other work commitments and the project never took off.

Talking about Irrfan’s untimely demise, Farooqui stated that his death has been a huge loss for the industry. According to him, Irrfan was not only a great actor but also a great human being.

Irrfan passed away last year in April after a long battle with cancer. He was last seen in ‘Angrezi Medium’ which also starred Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor, Deepak Dobriyal and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles.

Farooqui, on the other hand, is coming up with ‘No Land’s Man’ that will star Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role. The film chronicles the journey of a South Asian man. Matters get complicated when he meets an Australian woman in America. It reportedly deals with fascism and identity crisis, and also features Tahsan Rahman Khan and Eisha Chopra.
