Shah Rukh Khan’s humble abode Mannat in Mumbai is one of the most iconic places in the city. However, the bungalow was not originally named as Mannat.

Yes, you read that right! In 1997, during the shoot of ‘Yes Boss’, Shah Rukh first saw Mannat and made a wish that he will buy it one day. However, back then, it was owned by a Gujarati businessman named Nariman Dubash and was called Villa Vienna.

Later, in 2001, Shah Rukh finally decided to meet the owner and after a lot of convincing, he finally bought Villa Vienna from the ‘Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust’. Reportedly, Shah Rukh bought it for approximately Rs 13.32 crore at that time, a value which has now shot up to over Rs 200 crore.

Even after he bought it, for four years, the bungalow was registered on the same name as Villa Vienna. Later, it was in 2005 when it was officially renamed to Mannat.

Shah Rukh, who like many others had a humble beginning, has grown to be one of the most loved superstars of this country. He commands a huge fan following across the globe.

On the work front, he was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Zero’ co-starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. Now, after a sabbatical of three years, he is all set to make a comeback with Siddharth Anand’s ‘Pathan’ where he will be seen sharing the screen space with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles.

Apart from this, he also has Atlee’s next and Rajkumar’s Hirani’s film in his pipeline.
