There were reports doing the rounds in the media that South filmmaker Bala is in plans to approach Bollywood’s dream girl Hema Malini to play a pivotal role in his next starring Suriya. It was also reported that the actress has shown interest in taking up the project. However, ETimes has exclusively learnt that the actress is not doing any South film.

Though there was no official confirmation on the news, there were reports stating that the actress might make a comeback to Kollywood with this Bala’s venture. We tried contacting the veteran actress but she wasn’t available for comments, however, when approached Hema Malini’s office her spokesperson denied any sort of news related to South Indian cinema and informed us that the actress is currently in Mathura busy with Braj Utsav.

Hema Malini made her acting debut in Tamil cinema with 1963 ‘Idhu Sathyam’ and went on to do a few more films but reportedly, she had encountered some unpleasant experiences in Kollywood that led her to move to Mumbai and to Bollywood again.

Suriya is expected to begin work for Bala’s directorial soon, and the full cast and crew details will be announced before the film launch. Suriya is producing the film under his 2D Entertainment, and it’s unclear whether he plays the lead role or an extended cameo. Keerthy Suresh is in consideration for the female lead, and she is also not fixed yet.
