Recently, Karan Johar was honoured with Padma Shri Award at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on 8 November. After the ceremony, the filmmaker took to his Instagram handle to share a video.

Sharing the video, KJo wrote, ”Today felt surreal! I am honoured and humbled that the prestigious Padma Shri Award was bestowed on me. I feel extremely fortunate to receive it from the hands of our honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. This is a monumental day for me, my mother, my kids and my company, and will forever be etched in my memory. Thank you so much for all your wishes and the abundance of love!❤️ @presidentofindia #PadmaAwards2020”.

The Padma Awards are given in three categories — Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri – and announced annually on the eve of Republic Day. The Padma Vibhushan is awarded for exceptional and distinguished service, Padma Bhushan for distinguished service of high order and Padma Shri for distinguished service in any field.
