Tell us something about your upcoming film, ‘Roti Kapda And Romance’.
It is an out-and-out comedy-drama and an amazing story about how romance is important in life.

How was it working with Arshad Warsi?
Arshad Warsi is an institution. He has an amazing personality. I had a great experience working with him.

You recently went through a harrowing experience when you got robbed at gunpoint…
It was really scary. I am still in shock. I am feeling really sad for the girls who have to go through something like this almost every other day. It is not really easy for someone who is returning home from work late at night. When it happened to me, I almost thought that they will rape me. It was a horrifying experience.

You are into social work too. What motivated you to take it up?
We take so many things from this world and society, and I think, at some point, we have to give back to society too. This thought motivates me. I have always looked up to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and tried to follow him with my small work.

Is there anybody you look up to in the industry?
I look up to Shah Rukh Khan. We can only imagine the kind of hard work that he has put into reaching where he is today. He is absolutely perfect in everything.

You have worked in movies down South too. What is the major difference that you have noticed there vis-à-vis Bollywood?
Both the industries are amazing and I have really enjoyed being a part of both worlds. The major difference that I have noticed is with regard to punctuality. People in the South industry are quite particular about time. And they are also quite respectful towards other actors.

Who is the one actor you would love to work with someday?
The one star that I would love to work with someday is Hrithik Roshan.

With all this talk about nepotism and groupism in the industry, how has your personal experience been, as an outsider?
There is nepotism and groupism and I don’t think it is wrong at all. Everyone has the right to be comfortable in their group. My experience was no different from others. They don’t let you inside their groups easily and I have been through the same, but it is part of your struggle and I am okay with it.

What, according to you, are the advantages and disadvantages of being a celebrity?
There are so many advantages to being a celebrity. All of us get so much love and appreciation from our fans, which is priceless. I can’t think of any disadvantages.
