Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Sooryavanshi’, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, has been appreciated by one and all and the action entertainer continues to rule Box Office. The film has received a huge appreciation from the police fraternity as well living up to the tag ‘a film for the police force, with the police forece’.

Now, a special screening of ‘Sooryavanshi’ was recently organised at the Miraj Cinemas, Newtown for nearly 250 police personals of the area. This is the first time in a while a special screening was organised for the men in uniform Kolkata.

The special screening was attended by members of Bidhannagar Police, Traffic force, Rapid Force, Women police cadre among others. The police officials enjoyed the action entertainer fully with occasional loud cheering.

The screening was organised with the support of local MLA Sujit Bose and Bidhannagar Commissioner Supratim Sarkar. “I really enjoyed the film. The story is about the kind of work we do every day. No doubt the film is full of action and entertainment. I’m happy that some of us could manage to take time out from our hectic schedule and watch the film as a team.” said one of the senior police officials present there.
Bhuvanesh Mendiratta, Vice President P&L, Miraj Cinemas said, “We are delighted to organize a special screening, one of the first in the city, for the police force. Police Officials never fail to give their hard work and restless service to the people to the society 24*7 even in the Covid times. This was a little attempt from our side to felicitate them.”

‘Sooryavanshi’ is the fourth installment in Rohit Shetty‘s cop universe. While Ranveer played a police officer in the 2018 film ‘Simmba’, Ajay Devgn featured in the cop series ‘Singham’. In Sooryavanshi, Akshay plays Veer Suryavanshi, a character that we saw as an Anti-Terrorist Squad officer in the 2018 film ‘Simmba’, which also starred Sara Ali Khan. Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif plays a doctor and Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film.
