Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani skipped summons issued to her by the Mumbai Police on Wednesday, citing health reasons. While the Mumbai Police declared that Dadlani’s statement was important for the SIT and its investigation, other parties involved in the extortion and corruption case are waiting for Dadlani’s appearance, too. ETimes reached out to whistleblower Prabhakar Sail‘s lawyer Tushar Khandare to record his thoughts on Dadlani’s absence. Khandare said, “She will have to appear before of the police. She can’t get away by not showing up. After all this is the law, it can’t be avoided.”
The Mumbai police said on Wednesday that they will summon Dadlani again but with her not appearing before the police, we asked Khandare if the extortion case could trail away. Khandare pointed to the protocols and even asserted that Prabhakar Sail had recorded his statement with the Mumbai police and NCB in the extortion case, too. He also said that he will make sure that Dadlani appears before the authorities. He added, “You know supporting corruption is also an offense.”
With respect to the extortion case, Khandare asserted that they will not keep quiet and that taking a bribe and giving a bribe are both serious offenses.
