Tip Tip Barsa Pani has seen a glorious revival after 27 years and while Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are enjoying the attention, filmmaker Rajiv Rai has been flooded with calls, too. People want to know his reaction to the recreation of the song that was first seen in ‘Mohra‘, a film synonymous with Rai’s career. But the writer-director says that he has not seen ‘Sooryavanshi‘ and he can only speak about it after he’s watched the film over the weekend. Rajiv says, “I normally watch a film on the first day of its release. But, there is a lot of crowd at cinemas and with COVID still being around, I am staying away from cinema halls. I have yet to watch ‘No Time To Die’ and it is for the same reason.”

Rajiv’s friends have called him and told him that Tip Tip Barsa Pani is the most colorful part of ‘Sooryavanshi’, which is based on Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. Speaking about the song from his film being remixed and used in the new film, Rajiv says, “I don’t believe in remixes. I have never done it and will not do it. This time I have made an exception. When the makers approached me, I agreed to give permission as these are times when us filmmakers should support each other and I am glad people are back at the cinemas.”

On the subject of remixes and remakes, Rajiv informs us that Salman Khan wanted him to remake ‘Tridev’, but the filmmaker said that he would only use the title and that the story would be totally new. He says, “To be honest, I really don’t like remaking my own films (except for Salman Khan), I am also against using my old songs in my new films and I told this to Salman and he agreed to it. I told him about the new script and he was quite excited about it, too. We will hopefully work on it soon.”
