Things don’t pan out in life the way you want, not for anybody. The same happened to Kartik Aaryan when he was ousted from ‘Dostana 2‘- the big story we had brought you on May 7. We shall go back on that to remind you what happened, but little do you know that Kartik lost out on another plum assignment owing to that. The film which has been announced from Karan Johar’s stable today- ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’- with Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead- was supposed to star Kartik opposite Janhvi.

A source says, “After his exit from ‘Dostana 2’, the collateral damage was Kartik going out from ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ too.”

For those who’ve come in late, we get you the May 7 story: “Aaryan’s sudden replacement from ‘Dostana 2’ in April this year raised many eyebrows. Sixty per cent of the film has been already shot and several crores have been spent on it. Contrary to speculations, ETimes had it exclusively that Kartik didn’t want to do the film because he had a big fallout with Janhvi.

Apparently, Janhvi and Kartik’s friendship ended sometime in January. The actress cut off all communication with her co-star, and thereafter, he allegedly started being difficult. He kept procrastinating on the dates and consequently, the shoot kept getting delayed. So much so that Aaryan kept dillydallying and Karan Johar was compelled to not have him in the film anymore.

The latest on ‘Dostana 2’ is that the script is being modified and last we heard, Akshay Kumar was likely to do it. But nothing has been finalised yet. Sources from Bollywood say that the script is still a ‘work in progress’.

We texted Kartik to get this reaction on ‘Mr & Mrs Mahi’ but he remained unavailable for comment
