Taapsee Pannu, along with other actresses, has often spoken about body positivity and slammed fake beauty standards in the industry. However, there was a time when she too was insecure about her looks as an actor.

Did you know that Taapsee had undergone a chemical treatment to straighten her curly hair? Yes, you read that right! Spilling some beans on the same, Taapsee recently told a fashion magazine that it was the opposite of everything that she was. Like others, she didn’t have big ‘doe eyes’ or an elegant, small nose. She had what people called, ‘royal nose’. The actress didn’t have luscious lips or straight, silky hair, the kind that actresses flipped around.

Taapsee had curly hair, and when she was still in school, the actress visited a salon to get her hair chemically straightened, not once but twice, using some terrible chemical treatments that were available at the time. She revealed that it completely ruined her hair. At first, Taapsee was frustrated to have limp ends with curly bits growing on the top. However, she was horrified when her hair began falling.

The actress stated that initially she didn’t fit into the conventional parameters of beauty and she tried to change herself and failed miserably every time until she realised that she needed to live with and love what she has today. According to Taapsee, she now understands how beautiful it is to truly love the way you are.

On the work front, she has a line-up of some very interesting films in her kitty that includes ‘Looop Lapeta’, ‘Shabhaash Mithu’, ‘Dobaaraa’, ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan??’ and others in her kitty.
