“People who had severe COVID or who have been in ICU, or who have experienced a lot of fatigue, have noticed that their vision has been a bit blurry; some of them have experienced floaters, which are black dots that appear in the vision; patients have also complained of positive scotomas, where suddenly one thinks that he or she can see everything, but there’s a blank spot somewhere in his or her vision,” says Dr. Nishant Kumar, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Vitreo Retinal Surgeon & Uveitis Specialist at P. We have also seen a lot of people who have developed things like haemorrhages in the retina or swelling of the nerve of the retina, the doctor said.
People with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and people with infection or inflammation of the eye that needed regular monitoring suffered a lot during COVID, Dr Kumar added.
