By now we all are aware about Korean’s obsession with healthy and glowing skin. Achieving this is not a cakewalk and one has to follow to lot of regimes. We all grew up following the three steps of skin care- which are cleansing, toning and moisturising. But there is more to this which include essences, sheet masks and serums. We have explained the 10-step skin care routine followed by Koreans. Take note.

Step 1: Oil-based cleanser

This first step is imperative but easy to follow. The first cleanser used is an oil-based cleanser which helps in removing all the impurities, dirty pores, make-up residue but also protects the good bacteria present on the lipid layer of the skin.
Step 2: Double cleansing

The second cleanser used is water-based, which helps wash off all the undesirable oil from the previous step. It also helps in removing dirt and sweat and to freshen up your pores.

Step 3: Exfoliate

Exfoliating at least 2-3 times a week, depending upon your dermatologists, helps in bettering skin tone and texture and thus removes dead skin cells and prevents clogging of the pores. Exfoliating can be done either with scrubs or chemical liquids, in accordance with the texture of your skin.

Step 4: Toner

A toner helps in prepping the face for the upcoming steps and helps in balancing the PH level of your skin.

Step 5: Essence

An essence that is basically a water-based amalgam of serum and toner will keep your skin hydrated and unwithered. It is applied to achieve bright and radiating skin without any unwanted pigmentation.

Step 6: Ampoule/serum

This step helps in restoring the hydration that your skin requires by using concentrated serums which also target wrinkles, skin aging, dryness, or hyper-pigmentation.

Step 7: Sheet mask

A sheet mask is a well-known Korean product that is comfortable for the skin as well as easy to use. This face-shaped mask is soaked in serum and hydrating essence which nourishes the skin and is suitable for all skin types.

Step 8: Eye cream

-The most sensitive area on your face is the skin near your eyes. It is the first area to show signs of wrinkles and aging, so the eye cream helps in hydrating the dry skin and maintaining youthful plus glowing skin.

Step 9: Moisturiser

A moisturiser locks up all the amazing products applied till this point and therefore, rejuvenates the skin and beautifies the complexion.

Step 10: Sunscreen

Applying sunscreen is the most important step in this routine as it prevents the harmful UV rays from reaching your skin, therefore, reducing the possibility of skin cancer and DNA damage. It also helps with unnecessary tanning.
