International bestselling author Margaret Atwood’s last novel ‘The Testaments’ was a co-winner of the 2019 Booker Prize. And now, the award-winning Canadian author is back with a new book, which is expected to be out this year. Atwood’s new book, a collection of essays titled ‘Burning Questions’, will be published in March 2022.

For decades, novelist-poet-essayist Atwood, 81, has observed the world changing around us. From climate change and environmental crisis to women’s rights and freedom, Atwood shares her thoughts on such important issues in ‘Burning Questions’. The book contains 50 of her powerful essays which she wrote between 2004–2021. The book is divided into five parts – from 9/11 and its aftermaths to the present times. The book also gives a glimpse of Atwood’s writing process. According to a report on Oprah.com, in the book’s introduction, Atwood shares how she waited for years after she got the idea for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ because she thought it was “too far-fetched”. The author also explores the idea of storytelling and “Why do people everywhere, in all cultures, tell stories?”, as per the book’s blurb. She also grieves the death of her long-time partner Graeme Gibson as she explores “How much of yourself can you give away without evaporating?”.

The 496-page book, ‘Burning Questions’, will be published by Chatto & Windus on March 1, 2022.
