Yuri Andrukhovych is an iconic contemporary Ukrainian writer. Towards the end of the 1980s, he founded the Bu-Ba-Bu group (the three syllables stand for “burlesque, balagan, and buffonada” as per Wikipedia) with Victor Neborak and Oleksandr Irvanets. He is one of the writers who gave a new life to Ukrainian literature. His popular works include ‘Reincarnation’, ‘Perverzion’, ’12 Circles’, ‘The Moscoviad’, among others.
