Additionally, many were concerned about the well-being of the late actor’s close friend Shehnaaz Gill, who had met him on the set of Bigg Boss and developed an instant bond. After the actor’s passing, Shehnaaz seemed to have taken a break from her professional life. But very recently, in an exclusive conversation with spiritual teacher Sister BK Shivani, the Honsla Rakh actress shared a detailed account of her mental and spiritual journey. Not only did she open up about the negative thoughts that tormented her, but also shared invaluable insights into how one can cope with loss. It is okay to grieve, but self care is important too

There is nothing more devastating than losing a loved one, a friend or a family member. The pain, the sadness and the feeling of loss can take a grievous toll on us. And while we may try and move on, distract ourselves by keeping ourselves busy, there’s no escaping the process of grieving.

As we all know, Shehnaaz took a long break from her work too. She cut off from social media, did not do any interviews, was not seen at any shoots. During that time, the actor reveals that he had a lot of time to think and introspect. She battled negative emotions, grieved, mourned, but at the end of the day, she realised that it is important to rise above it all and move forward.

Do not let negative thoughts poison your mind

While talking to Sister Shivani, Shehnaaz reveals how difficult it is to come to terms with a loved one’s loss. She says, “Kayi log sochte hain, nahi ab nahi mujhe rehna. Ab to main marr hi jau to accha hai, logon ki wording hai ye. Matlab meri bhi thi ki humein to ab nahi rehna chahiye, humein to aisa karna chahiye. Ab main kya karungi.”

However, the actress emphasizes how our thoughts are shaped by the attitude we hold towards life. That the road to positivity is determined by the thoughts in our mind and what we believe in our hearts. No matter how loved you are by others, your family and your friends, ultimately, it all comes down to how you treat yourself, she says.

Accepting impermanence

As is known, life and death are a part of life. There is nothing that is permanent. Shehnaaz in the video interaction talks about the same. According to her, lingering on the negative thoughts, being depressed for a long time only causes more harm. Instead, she asks her viewers and fans to cherish the good memories and lead a meaningful life.

She says, “Humari journey abhi hai, unki journey complete ho chuki hai. Unka kapda change ho chuka hai lekin woh kahin na kahin aa chuke hain..shakal unki change ho gayi hai but woh dobara iss roop mein aa chuke hain. Unka account mere saath abhi ke liye band ho gaya hai…phir may be continue hoga.”
