Uncle-nephew killed in dispute over land boundary in Banshkhali

Two people have been killed and three others injured in a land boundary dispute in Chittagong’s Banshkhali district. The incident took place in Mansuria Bazar area of ​​Dakshin Jaldi upazila on Wednesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Khaleq, 30, son of late Abul Kashem and Sultan Mahmud alias Tipu, 24, son of Mohammad Kamal. They are about uncles and nephews.

According to local sources, on Wednesday afternoon in the south Jaldi Mansuria Bazar area of ​​the land boundary dispute with Manzur Alam and Bahadur Alam. Kamal and Abdul Khaleq had a fight. At one point the conflict between the two sides began. Five people from both sides were injured. The injured were first taken to Banshkhali Upazila Health Complex. The on-duty doctor of the hospital declared one dead and sent the four seriously injured to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Sultan Mahmud died at the hospital.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Chittagong Medical Hospital Police Outpost Alauddin Talukder said Sultan Mahmud died at 6:15 pm after being brought to the hospital. Three injured people are undergoing treatment.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Anwara Circle) Humayun Kabir said there had been clashes between cousins ​​over land boundaries. Police have visited the spot. One body was recovered and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
